Swim Team
Rancho San Miguel Polar Bears Swim Team (“RSM”) is a family-oriented, parent-supported, non-profit member of the Diablo Community Swim League (DCSL). We compete against other teams in dual, invitational, city and county meets. Our swim team season runs from April to August. We average 2 meets per week, with a week off around the July 4th holiday
We are deeply committed to teaching good sportsmanship and teamwork, along with stroke technique and competitive swimming strategies. We encourage ALL SWIMMERS to achieve their personal best. We have one team, which means your child can swim at every meet (unless you choose to sign out). Our coaching staff is exceptional with many years of experience, led by Head Coach Christian Rasmussen.
Swimmers join the team for various reasons: for healthy exercise, to learn and improve stroke technique, to participate in social activities throughout the summer, to be competitive, to compete with themselves for personal best times, to develop a concept of team spirit, to learn to set and achieve goals, to qualify for County. Emphasis will be on stroke technique development, developing confidence in all strokes and consistently improving best times.
Polar Bears know how to have fun too! Throughout the summer, we offer many opportunities for swimmers and their families to enjoy the simple pleasures of summer... including team outings, adult and family socials, and a water balloon battle you will never forget!
Please note, with the exception of 15-18 swimmers, all families are required to join the swim club in order to participate on the swim team.
